Hosanna House, Inc. is a multi-purpose community center serving over 35,000 people a year. Being a force for positive change, we persevere through prayer and hard work to provide families and individuals with hope and quality health and human services. Our mission is to provide opportunities that will empower families and individuals to discover, acknowledge and develop their maximum potential physically, spiritually and economically.
Our Musikgarten certified choral educator leads two distinct programs at Hosanna House through their Child Development Center. The first is Wilkinburg Sings! an after school program introducing the children to music through games and activities. This class is offered on Mondays for 45-60 minutes. The second is a toddler and preschool program encompassing the Musikgarten curriculum and aspects of Kodaly. The class focuses on development through music, and includes exercises for dexterity, balance and impulse control. This class is offered on Wednesdays for 30 minutes.
“I teach music classes at Hosanna House because I see how much these kids love it. I know they don’t get a lot of experience with music and movement – and this program gives it to them. Seeing their excitement, their smiles, their developmental leaps brings me a lot of joy. Watching a kid walk for the first time, then balance on one foot – it’s really exciting for me.” – Outreach educator
