Welcome Families!
We’re so happy to have you on the Pittsburgh School for the Choral Arts team! You are an asset to our programs and organization. Families make the Choir experience possible. Family members have a wide range of talents and interests which they offer to ensure that Choir members have an enriching experience. These pages will relay information regarding scheduling, choir tours, volunteering, and other opportunities.

Reminder: Concentio Camp for the 2016 – 2017 year is August 8-12, 2016. Please avoid scheduling vacations during this time – choir camp is mandatory.

Rehearsal Schedule

Melodia: Tuesdays at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 4:15PM-5:45PM
Harmonia: Tuesdays at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 6PM-7:45PM
Via: Tuesdays at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 6PM-8PM
Chamber Choir: Mondays at Knit One, 7PM-9PM
Concentio: Fridays at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 4:10PM-6:30PM (One Saturday per Month 10:30AM-2:30PM)

 

Attendance Policy

Attendance is taken by the Choral Assistant at each rehearsal. If your child must be absent, arrive late, or be dismissed early from rehearsal, notice must be given at least 24 hours before the rehearsal to be missed. Notice must be sent to: attendance@pghchoralarts.org (notice may also be copied to your child’s choir director and choral assistant).

All choir members are allotted two (2) absences, two (2) late arrivals (up to 30 minutes), and two (2) early dismissals (up to 30 minutes). Choir members who go over their allotment will be put on attendance probation.

 

Carpooling

Please submit written authorization to the Administrator if you child will be transported to or from rehearsal by someone other than a parent or guardian. Authorization must include the name of the child(ren), and then name(s) of those authorized to carpool. Authorizations must also state whether it is one-time or for the choir year.

A choir directory to be used for carpooling purposes is available by request. Please contact PSCA to receive a copy.
